Myles Russ, the subject of today’s #ThrowbackThursday, was recently in training camp with the Buffalo Bills as part of the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship program.
Entering his third season as Robert Morris’ running backs coach, Russ was one of three individuals selected by the Bills to participate in the program.
Russ’ latest opportunity is something that he’ll likely never forget.
One thing the young coach will definitely never forget is that day back in November 2010.
His Colonials were in a NEC title race and were hosting Steel City rival Duquesne in the NEC-TV Game of the Week.
On the same day that Robert Morris would thrill the home crowd with a 34-11 thumping of its cross-town rival, Russ went on to become the program’s all-time rushing leader.
Making the record-breaking moment even more special, Russ reached the milestone on a touchdown run with the former record-holder looking on from the sidelines.
