March 1, 2007 – Sacred Heart Drops 100 on Wagner
Sacred Heart, the last team to hit the century mark in a NEC Tournament game, posted a 100-68 win over Wagner on this date in history.
Eleven Pioneers played in the game and all eleven found the scoring column. Dual-sport star Joey Henley led five Sacred Heart scorers in double figures with 20 points in 22 minutes.
The Pioneers, who shot 58.8 percent from the floor, dominated their opponent down low, out-scoring Wagner by a 56-14 margin in the paint.
Following the 100-point eruption, Sacred Heart went on to defeat Quinnipiac in the semifinal round and advanced the NEC Championship Game for the first time in program history.
