NEC Football Preseason Peek; Duquesne Starts In Top Spot
The coaches’ voting results went public during the fifth annual #NECFB Social Media Day on July 24 at MetLife Stadium.
Duquesne, which boasted a league-high eight preseason all-NEC selections, topped the predicted order-of-finish for the 2019 campaign.
Two of the Dukes’ preseason all-conference picks were on hand (with championship rings on their hands) in the EY Coaches Club. Duquesne running back AJ Hines and linebacker Brett Zanotto were two of the 18 student-athlete representatives invited to the event, which ceremoniously kicks off the new football season.
New York Giants radio personality Paul Dottino and former Super Bowl champion punter Jeff Feagles hosted the live on-air program that was carried by NEC Front Row and ESPN3.
Special guests in attendance included former SB champion Roman Oben (NFL VP for Youth Strategy), former big league manager Bobby Valentine (Sacred Heart Executive AD) and former two-time all-NEC first team RB Ed Pricolo (insurance professional).
Two known leaders in FCS coverage – STATS INC and NFL Draft Bible – were on location to speak with student-athletes and coaches.
