  • Central Connecticut is averaging 41.4 ppg during its current five-game win streak. The Blue Devils next host Saint Francis, which brings the NEC’s top-ranked defense to New Britain. The Red Flash pace the circuit in scoring defense (12.9 ppg – 4th in FCS) and opponents’ yards per play (4.3). CCSU and SFU are tied for sixth nationally in turnover margin (+1.50/game).
  • Sacred Heart brings the NEC’s top-ranked rushing offense (190.8 ypg) to Smithfield to face Bryant’s league-leading passing attack (306.8 ypg) in the #NECFB Game of the Week on ESPN3.
  • Defensively, the contest features the NEC’s top tackler as well as the league’s sacks leader. Reigning STATS FCS Defensive POTW Tom Costigan, who logged 4.0 TFL in a Week 9 win at Wagner, leads the NEC with 8.0 sacks and 3 FF. SHU LB CJ Parvelus averages a NEC-high 10.4 stops per game.
  • The NEC is heading back to The Bluff for the featured Game of the Week on November 11. Duquesne will host CCSU in a contest that carries major title implications and the league has awarded that matchup to ESPN3 as part of its eight-game schedule on ESPN’s multi-screen sports network.
