#NEChoops Preseason Predictions and Recognition Announced During Social Media Day Event

Fairleigh Dickinson did it last year with all freshmen and sophomores and the men’s basketball coaches’ poll suggest that the Knights will do it again. Greg Herenda’s team finished atop the preseason rankings with 2016 NEC Tournament runner-up Wagner taking second in the poll

On the women’s side, Sacred Heart ended Robert Morris’ three-year run as “preseason favorite.” SHU finished one win shy of the ultimate NEC prize and reigning Brenda Reilly Coach of the Year Jessica Mannetti welcomes back four starters with hopes finishing the deal this March. Meanwhile, RMU, which sent off head coach Sal Buscaglia by winning a conference title last year, was pegged for a second-place finish this season.

In addition to the predicted order-of-finishes, the NEC also unveiled two five-member Preseason All-NEC Teams (one men’s, one women’s).
