Two weeks to go. Three teams are alive.
Such is the race for the NEC’s automatic bid to the Division I FCS playoffs summed up in eight words.
Sacred Heart (8-2, 4-1), Bryant (8-1, 4-0) and Wagner (5-4, 3-1) are the three lucky ones left standing and here’s how each of them can acquire a bid to the Dance…
Sacred Heart – The Pioneers need a win over Bryant in Week 12 and they’ll be dancing for the second year in a row.
Bryant – The Bulldogs needs wins in their final two games – Week 12 at Sacred Heart; Week 13 vs. Wagner. Bryant could secure the playoff bid in Week 12 by defeating Sacred Heart coupled with a Wagner loss to Duquesne.
Wagner – The Seahawks need two more wins and a little help to secure their second NCAA FCS playoff bid in three years. Wagner needs to defeat Duquesne in Week 12 coupled with a Bryant victory over Sacred Heart. Those results would set the table for a head-to-head winner-take-all matchup between Wagner and Bryant in Week 13.
