The Matchup:  The #NECFB Game of the Week on ESPN3 is a rather meaningful one.  Duquesne (3-1) and Sacred Heart (2-2) are both eyeing a conference crown, and a Week 11 win is practically imperative for both sides.  The game features two of the top first-year players in Division I FCS. Duquesne quarterback Dillon Buechel and Sacred Heart signal caller RJ Noel are both candidates for the Sports Network’s Jerry Rice Award.  The former owns a 62.6 completion percentage and has throw for a league-leading 1,891 yards.  Meanwhile, Noel leads the NEC in points responsible for, having thrown 20 TD passes and scored six more on the ground.

The Matchup: It’ll be hard-hittin’ in New Britain this week. NEC title hopes are on the line as Robert Morris (2-1) visits Central Connecticut (2-1) in a battle of teams who seem to be hitting their stride in time for the stretch run. Both teams are coming off victories during which their quarterbacks put forth prime performances. CCSU’s Nick SanGiacomo was sensational, completing 88.0 percent of his passes (a NEC single-game season high) and throwing for three touchdowns in the 52-17 win at Wagner. Meanwhile, quarterback Paul Jones was responsible for all three of Robert Morris’ touchdowns, thrice hooking up with receiver Duane Mitchell.  The Week 11 matchup could be decided in the kicking game where both teams feature dynamic return men.  Robert Morris’ Antwan Eddie (17.7 ypr) ranks second amongst FCS punt returners, while CCSU’s Rob Hollomon (34.5 ypr) is the nation’s third-ranked kickoff returner.

The Matchup:  A pair of longtime rivals will clash on Senior Day at Wagner.  The Seahawks welcome in Outer Bridge rival Monmouth, now a FCS independent, for their final home contest of the season. For the final time in what has been an illustrious career, Dominique Williams will play on Hameline Field.  The fifth-year senior, and only three-time captain in program history, is the fifth leading rusher in NEC annals (4,273 yards). Wagner veteran kicker David Lopez needs only three field goals in his final career home game to tie former Seahawk Piotr Czech for first place on the NEC’s all-time field goals made list.
