It’s Was a Perri Good Year: LIU Hoops Coach Meets Social Media Milestone

It’s been quite a year and a half for Jack Perri.

In March 2012, he was dancing for the second straight season as an associate head coach for the NCAA-bound LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds.

One month later, he became a Division I head coach, taking over at LIU when Jim Ferry left for Duquesne.

Fast-forward to March 2013.  Perri’s team endured a season-ending injury to 2012 NEC Player of the Year Julian Boyd, but there were the Blackbirds again holding the NEC championship trophy.

In his first year as a head coach, Perri led LIU back to the Big Dance as the Blackbirds became the first team in NEC history to win three consecutive conference crowns.

On August 6, 2013, Perri reached another milestone in his coaching career – He joined Twitter.

Perri’s Twitter account went LIVE with the following tweet…

“Just joining the Twitter world. Will take some getting used to but excited to update everyone on whats going on with LIU Brooklyn Basketball”

Join us in welcoming Coach Perri to the digital media age and follow his newly-created account.
