The Overtime! Weekly ‘Twitter Take Five’

Following your favorite NEC athlete or sportswriter on Twitter is an enjoyable experience, but can also become an overwhelming one.

With so many people to follow and so much information to digest, it isn’t always easy to manage. Hence, the Overtime! Blog’s Twitter Take Five, a new weekly feature that selects five of the most intriguing/significant Tweets from across the NEC and presents them to our fans right here on the Official Blog of the Northeast Conference.

Tweet No.5 – Dan Doherty, FDU Knights soccer fan

Glad to know that Dan keeps up on the NEC soccer standings, which are updated daily on  And he is right, the Knights (5-0-2) are alone in first, but Central Connecticut is only one point behind in the standings heading into the next-to-last weekend of the regular season.

Tweet No. 4 – Brianna Gauthier, Assistant Coach, Mount St. Mary’s WBB

This former Mount player-turned-coach is obviously organizing a celebration to commemorate 40 years of women’s athletics at Mount St.Mary’s.  We’ll have to keep tabs on her Twitter account for updates as February nears.

Tweet No. 3 – Nick Doscher, Senior Quarterback, Wagner Football

NEC football fans have seen plenty of Nick Doscher throwing and running the football. It is also apparent that the former all-NEC quarterback can CATCH, too.

Tweet No. 2 – Ike Azotam, Junior Forward, Quinnipiac MBB

Congratulations to Ike Azotam for doing some serious work on those Buffalo Wings. Cleaning up  that plate like he cleans up the glass in NEC basketball games. Is it possible for Ike and @NECralph to go toe-to-toe in a wing eating contest?

Tweet No. 1 – Josh Thompson, Senior, Wagner MBB

We all know he can dunk as basketball, but here, Wagner’s Josh Thompson shows his philosophical side.
