4 Days Until NEC Basketball Takes Center Stage in Brooklyn #NECinNYC #HelloBrooklyn

Overtime! Blog is counting down the remaining days until the ceremoniously tips off the 2012-13 basketball season with NEC “Social” Media Day on October 23 at the brand-new Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn.

In an attempt to whet your appetite for the #NECinNYC event, we will be featuring a Tweet, Fact and Photo (related to NEC hoops) on a daily basis.

Friday, October 19 – Four Full Days Away

The Tweet…

#NECWBB: While they await the big day that will be NEC “Social” Media Day, the Monmouth Hawks hosted an event of their own earlier this week.  Head coach Jenny Palmateer’s Hawks solicited donations for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which promotes breast cancer awareness, at the Cold Stone Creamery in Monmouth Mall.  Nice work, Hawks!

The Fact…

#NECMBB: Central Connecticut State has earned an NEC Tournament berth in each of the 14 years, the longest current run in the conference.  Fairleigh Dickinson holds the league record with 18 straight appearances from 1984-01.

The Photo…

#NECWBB: Guard Alysha Womack has led Monmouth in scoring in each of the past three seasons. Will she do it again?
