Fairleigh Dickinson and Sacred Heart moved one step closer to a possible NEC dream matchup that would unfold before a live National TV audience on Saturday night with the NCAA bowling crown hanging in the balance.
Both teams went 4-3 during traditional team play during Thursday’s seeding rounds and finished third and fourth, respectively amongst the eight-team field. That result places the two NEC school in opposite halves of the bracket. Meaning they wouldn’t meet in either of the first two rounds of championship bracket best-of-seven baker play.
FDU and SHU continue their quest for the national title on Friday, April 13 at 9:00 am. The No. 3 seed Knights will open the double-elimination, championship baker rounds by battling No. 6 Arkansas State. The No. 4 seed Pioneers will face defending NCAA champ Maryland-Eastern Shore.
