NEC News of the Day: Colonials, Hawks Clash at Jersey Shore plus Your Top Tweets, Links, & More

Not MTV, but NEC-TV will be at the Jersey Shore on Saturday, October 1 for a gridiron clash between 2010 NCAA FCS playoff participant Robert Morris and red-hot Monmouth.

Coming off a bye week, Robert Morris will be looking for its first win after an 0-3 showing in non-league play.  Meanwhile, Monmouth looks to make it three in a row following mammoth road wins over Villanova and NEC preseason favorite Central Connecticut.

The broadcast will begin at 12:00 pm and air live on MSG+ HD and PCNC (Pittsburgh).

Fans will once again have the opportunity to interact with the broadcast via Twitter. Viewers can tweet questions and comments @NECsports leading up to and throughout the game. A NEC representative will be standing by to answer your query and possibly pass it onto the booth for the pros to address.

The best Tweets will make their way onto Saturday’s telecast and receive an answer from Dave Popkin and Steve Levy.  NEC football play-by-play man Paul Dottino will be absent from the game as he is on assignment covering the New York Giants in Arizona, but Popkin, another NEC-TV veteran, will step in to call the game alongside color analyst, and former Cal quarterback, Steve Levy.

So let Popkin and Levy know what you’re thinking by tweeting @NECsports.  You’ll also have the chance to tweet your selection for Ruby Tuesday Player of the Game.  Starting in the fourth quarter, send your Player of the Game tweets @NECsports using the hashtag #Ruby Tuesday.
