NEC News of the Day: It’s Almost Time for Tip-off plus Your Tweets & Links of the Day

Football is in full swing.  The Major League Baseball Playoffs are here.  Before you know it’ll be time for College Hoops.

According to various media reports, the NBA season is in jeopardy due to labor issues, but they’ll be none of that in the Northeast Conference.

There are 24 teams (12 men’s, 12 women’s) in workout facilities throughout the Northeast Conference who are prepping for another season on the hardwood.

The NEC media staff has been engaged in preseason preparation as well.

The conference office announced the dates for its annual preseason media teleconferences, which give members of the press a chance to interact with the league’s head coaches during Q&A segments.  Fans may also be presented an opportunity to submit questions electronically, so continue to watch for further details in the weeks to come.

The 2011 NEC Men’s Basketball Preseason Media Teleconference will take place on November 2 beginning at 11:00 am with the women’s call to follow on November 3, also at 11:00 am.

The NEC will announce the preseason predicted order-of-finish as well as a five-member Preseason All-Northeast Conference Team at the start of both teleconferences.

Nine Northeast Conference men’s teams and another nine women’s teams are slated to tip off the 2011-12 campaign on November 11.

NEC-TV recently had a chance to catch up with head coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl of the defending NEC women’s basketball champion Red Flash.  Here’s the interview with the SFPA head coach as she heads into her fifth season at the helm…
